How to use this Christmas word search
Holiday weeks are busy, so this one is ready to print as it is. The list is about the season's traditions and decorations: stockings, wreaths, carols, gingerbread and the nutcracker. Two-word entries like candy cane and North Pole run together in the grid, as they do in most printed word searches, while the word bank shows them with their spaces. Delete anything that does not suit your group, or add your own family words.
- Edit the list: add classmates' names, family members or your town's holiday traditions.
- Pick Easy, Medium or Hard. Hard hides words backwards and diagonally, which keeps older kids busy longer.
- Print the puzzle, then the answer key on the next page. Save as PDF if you want to email it.
Teacher tips
- Need something that does not center one holiday? The winter word search covers snow, mittens and hot cocoa instead.
- Turn it into a race: the first table to find every word reads the list back to the class.
- Print on colored paper to make it feel like a party handout.
- Use the same list for Christmas bingo at the party itself.
